Our Mission

Animal Assisted Professionals is a valued provider of animal assisted interventions (AAI) to individuals, families, and community and state-based organizations.
  • Advocate for the professionalization of animal assisted interventions, creating and implementing evidence-based standards and practices.
  • Offer one-on-one and group animal assisted activities and therapy programming to children, teens, and older adults to improve mental health outcomes, reduce stress, build skill sets, and positively impact physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Provide grief, loss, and bereavement support and resources through publicly offered support groups.
  • Promote and support volunteering within long-term care communities and mental health organizations and aim to increase the volunteer population within memory care and hospice and palliative care programs.
  • Train, register, and certify professionals and volunteers to effectively implement animal assisted interventions in public and private practice settings.
  • Endeavor to create a strong sense of community and partnership between those we serve, our partners and supporters, and our dedicated volunteers.
